Our HETEROTOPIA project is a international program exchange and workshop proposal. The project is more develop in East European country for the moment: Exchanging experiences, artistic exchanges and research workshop with 7 organizations in Hungary, 2 in Slovakia. We want to better define this program and find new partners in and out of Europe.Asia is a great motivation for us.One of our ‘credo’ is to work between many places, crossing the territorial experiences.

Describe how your art space relates to the local community. If you are about to open an art space, explain how you related to the local community in your previous experiences.

Our Land art [in/out situ] workshop is very involved in local community dynamics, thinking of crossing different territories, environmental action, acting the participants implication to the local making space. We are currently making a new project around population memories and making his how history. So we are too very implicate in the beginning and the living of the place we are: Friche RVI in Lyon, a very great experience of community spacesWe also participate to ‘Conseil du Developpement du Grand Lyon’ (Developpment Council of Lyon metropolis) and have many exchanges with other organization.

What are the major internal and external challenges your organisation is facing?

Our organization is 2 years old official and 1 year with employees. We are making big projects and we are at the time to re organize the all stuff. So it’s a classic grows up phase. One of the point, for example, is to feet on a better communication.Externally, we are in the meaning of getting our own place. So this is a big challenge also.

What are the main achievements and strengths of your organisation?

The formal organization is young but the informal organization is oldest. So the ‘Friche RVI’ place is one our biggest ‘achievement’ (Living, interactive and artistic experience). We try to be in innovative and well organize workshops and perspectivesOur short but intensive team experience begin to be one of our strengths. Good skills repartition and participative management and imaginative people and volunteers.
